--------- INTRODUCTION ---------

Nothing is quite as nice as a lovely couple, but nothing harder than making a success of it. To make a relationship work is exactly that: Real work, like Sysiphus. Success is the balance of intensity and stability. Each couple has its own dynamic, which changes with the passage of time, taking everyone by surprise.

The QUESTION MARK in these cartoons symbolizes the mysteries of women with unexpected actions and their fickleness. The EXCLAMATION MARK represents the man, who still somehow dominates, sets the tone and (arrogantly?) resists all changes – maybe even against his own desire.

These cartoons are a tribute to the other gender, a(n honest) genuine examination of our quest for happiness together. We glance at our hopes, joys and woes, pains, weaknesses, pleasures and failings.

Women and Men are fundamentally different. They think differently and still use the same words to express something completely different. We highlight the misunderstandings in a joyful way to enhance the communication with the other gender by focussing on how we stumble with our language to overcome the differences and perhaps as an invitation to enrich all relationships.

May these honest indiscretions make you all smile, curse and laugh or simply shake your head in disbelieve. There is nothing wrong with brazenness as long as it is as genuine as here, nothing but the truth. Every man and every woman just might find some of their own reflections in one or the other of these sketches.

The point ist not to teach lessons in how to act in a couple situation. There is only one rule: -none ! No rule(s) other than “all is fair in love and war”… The most important in life is... humour !

Isn’t life itself all about finding oneself first and then the other, in order to respect one another with all complexities? Humour (may) might well be the only way to overcome the trials and tribulations standing in the way of a happy life together.

Principally a new drawing should appear in this space every day, so that you can benefit from. The cartoons we translate spontaneously into French, English and German have even numbers. The difficult to translate or (still) to adapt (will be) are given odd numbers.
